bringing it up to speed

The next few posts are things that I had wanted to blog about before I started this blog.

Back in January I attended the Wedding Library's event, The Wedding Party. They had 4 speakers: Darcy Miller of Martha Stewart Weddings, Reem Acra, Preston Bailey, and Mark Ingram. They also had some pretty amazing vendors from Ceci NY to Hatch Creative Studio to April Reed Cakes. It was great to finally meet all these amazing/ talented people. Check out the beautiful flowers from ArtFool by Matthew Robbins.

I'm having trouble uploading images so I'll try again later.

It's the little things that make me happy

I haven't blogged in a few days since I've been sick. I seem to get sick every time the weather changes. At least now, warmer times are here.  :)

I read about this on one of my daily blog reads but I had to go check it out for myself. I went to Starbucks this morning and they have redesigned their logo, cups, and....made this: little green stirry thing. Not only can you stir your drink with it. It snaps into the oval hole on the top of the cover and stops your drink from spilling. So on my train ride in this morning. I tried to see how much would spill if I left it in my bag sitting vertically. I was surprised that barely any had leaked out. I love this new little stirry plug thing. I kept it just in case they run out. It's those little ingenious things that just make my day. Now if I choose not to finish my Venti drink on my way in. No biggie since now I can save it until I make it to my desk.

ah…it's starting to feel like spring

A few months ago I went with a friend and my sister to the Wedding Party. I got to meet some of the great people in the wedding industry. My favorite was meeting Darcy Miller of Martha Stewart Weddings. MS Weddings represents the epitome of wedding styles and ideas. After the party, my sister recommended we go and have brunch at Park Avenue Winter. The food was fab and the atomsphere was a icy Winter white with silver accents. Their décor and menu changes with the Seasons.

So this weekend to celebrate my birthday with my friends, I wanted to go and check out Park Avenue Spring. The main color scheme was purple with gray and was inspired by the classic English garden. The food and service was once again impeccable. Look at the Winter to Spring room changing clip. They transformed the entire space in a forty-eight hour timeframe. I can't wait to check out Park Avenue Summer. It's located at 100 East 63rd at Park Avenue, New York, NY. www.parkavenyc.com.

::better late than never::

I've been thinking about starting a weblog for so many years…thinking—that's the key word. I wanted a place to share design inspirations, yummy foods, basically: my "life's little joys". I figured it would also help me keep track of my favorite sites and links to specifics too. I've been keeping things in notebooks since I love paper and all sorts of stationery. My birthday was a few days ago. I'm well into my thirties now but I look and feel much younger at heart. I figured it was time to stop thinking and start doing. So here we go.

I've been officially engaged for about 10 months now and our wedding is 6 months away. Some of my posts will definitely be wedding related. I love planning our wedding. I've found so many great sites. I also love food. All sorts of food. I think that's always my question of the hour: What's for lunch? or What's for dinner? My fiance and I just bought a house and so I've been looking at all sorts of fun home stuff to fill it with. Being a designer, I find inspirations in all sorts of things. Plus..I love to shop. Target is one of my favorite stores since it's a collaboration of so many great designers. You never know what you'll find there.
